Baby and Education

What should we learn about next

As Amy begins growing and becoming more active I begin to think of more activities to help her learn and help with her future education. During her 5 month I notice that she was more active, she paid attention to things that had colors, that made noise, even things that move funny. Since she was little or I can say in my belly, I always read to her, of course all books tell mothers to read, but it not just any reading, I notice that if I read with different tune, she seems to be more interested. I allow Amy to watch some TV, a lot of parents will disagree but you know I think as much as you want to avoid not having your baby watch TV, what about our cell phones and iPads??? I seen many parents give their cell and iPad to their children at a young age so that they don’t bother them. Now I am not saying that TV is ok… however showing her important things or some type of distraction will not hurt as long as you are doing other activities with your baby. Amy has shown interest in sports, animals and her favorite Mickey Mouse Club house, I don’t just let her watch TV I talk about what we are looking at and I try to make it educational. As far as cell phones and iPad when she is awake I try to not have it around her or be seen with it because I want to give her all my attention. My husband knows I do not want him using his phone in front of her I do not want her to think it is ok. She has shown interest in her animals, whenever we see one I tell her about it, since she was about one month I have shown her the animals, she shown more interest in the Monkey. I am excited about taking her to the Zoo when she is older. Books seems very interesting to her too she likes for me to read and change my tune. Daddy also reads and he sometimes even explains in more detail the story. As the weather changes I can not wait to get a group of ladies to go to story time at the local library. My husband has try to show her some math she didn’t seem interested only because there happen to be a commerical of football. I think pretty soon once she is able to understand more of sports we will try to put her into baby sport, Lets see how that goes. Please tell us what kind of activies are you doing with baby that will help her growth????
